Butterflies and Caterpillars

We have been learning about The Monarch Butterfly. Here are some photos of the chrysalis's and a butterfly that has come out. We were very excited to see the butterfly this morning. We still have lots of butterflies to come out of their chrysalis.

Reading in Room 8

We all enjoy reading. We are reading books from the Library corner or from our book boxes. We are learning what to do if we come to a word we are not sure of. We can miss out the word and read on or we can re-read the sentence. Sometimes looking at the picture helps us and we can sound out our words.

Red and Black Day

We all dressed up in red and black to support the people in Christchurch after the earthquake. We all gave some money to help them. We are also making some cards to send down to a school in Christchurch. Mrs Meys has a brother who is a teacher in Christchurch, so we are sending the cards to his school.
